SOP for Operation of Conductivity Meter

1.0 OBJECTIVE

1.1 To lay down the procedure for CONDUCTIVITY METER. 

2.0  SCOPES

2.1 This procedure applies to Quality Control Department.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 QC Chemists Lab analyst follows the SOP.

3.2 Head- QA & QC for implementation of SOP.

3.0 PROCEDURE

4.1 Ensure that Conductivity Meter is calibrated.

4.2 Clean the electrode with dry tissue paper.

4.3 As per testing procedure take sufficient sample quantity into a 100 ml beaker.

4.4 Stir well to make uniform suspension.

4.5 Immerse the electrode into the suspension/ sample

4.6 Switch ‘ON’ the Conductivity Mater and read the conductivity.

4.7 Record conductivity (Express the reading as a number) reading in an analytical register.

4.8 Wash the electrode carefully with distilled water and dip the electrode into the distilled water between uses.

4.0 PRECAUTION

5.1 Ensure that instrument is cleaned before and after use.

5.2 Handle glassware & Glass electrodes carefully.
