1.0 OBJECTIVE
1.1Â To lay down the
procedure for Cleaning and Sanitization of RO water & Process water.
2.0Â SCOPE
2.1 This procedure applies to the Production of ‘’XYZ company.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Maintenance Officer / Shift Officer & online QA to follow the SOP.
3.2 Head – Production & QA for complies of SOP.
4.0Â PROCEDURE
4.1Â Â CLEANING OF RO WATER & PROCESS WATERÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
4.1.1Â Switch
off the main power supply of RO water tank and process water tank.
4.1.2Â Hang the tag of ''MAN AT WORK DO NOT
OPERATE'' on an electrical panel.
4.1.3Â Empty the tank completely through the bottom
drain line.
4.1.4Â Clean the inside of the tank, from top to
bottom, using hot water.
4.1.5Â Drain the washings through a bottom drain line.
4.2Â SANITIZATION
OF RO WATER & PROCESS WATER
4.2.1Â For disinfection, use Sodium Hypo chloride
solution of strength 200 ppm available chlorine.
4.2.2 Contact time with hypo chloride solution should be 5 minutes minimum, but in no case, should it exceed 10 minutes.                    Â
4.2.3 Drain disinfectant solution from the bottom
of the tank within 6-10 min. Ensure
that the tank is completely drained.
4.2.4Â As soon as draining is over, give a final rinse with 800 C water (The tank is now ready for use)Â Â Â
4.3Â PREPARATION OF 200 PPM SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE SOLUTION
4.3.1Â Add 5ml of 4% sodium hypo chloride in 1000 ml
water
4.3.2Â Fill the record in Equipment sanitization
record format.
4.4Â FREQUENCY:Â Half

Note:Â Do not use Formalin for sanitization.

4.2 SANITIZATION OF CONTAINERS, SPATULAS, TROLLEYS & BARREL PUMPSÂ Â Â
4.2.1 Preparation of solution:
4.2.1 (10.1%) Carbendazim Slution-100mg of carbendazim powder in 100ml of IPA solution.
4.2.2 Spray 0.1% carbendazim solution.
4.2.3Â After half an hour of spray, the equipment can be used.
4.2.4 Fill in the record of cleaning & sanitization.
4.2. The overall process should be checked by an authorized person.
