SOP for Sampling of Raw Materials | Raw Material Sampling Procedure

1.0 OBJECTIVE

1.1 To lay down the procedure for Sampling raw material.

2.0 SCOPE

2.1 This procedure applies to the Quality Control department of QC.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

3.1 QC chemists to prepare and follow the SOP.

3.2 Head – QA & QC for implementation of SOP

4.0 STATIONARY

4.1 For Powder Sample – Cleaned Spatula, air-locked poly-bag.

4.1 For Liquid Sample – Cleaned and dried sampling rods designated for different raw materials.

4.2 For Color – Cleaned Spatula, sampling bottle.

5.0 SAMPLING PLAN

5.1 For Noodles, Soda Ash, and Frisis – Composite samples have to be prepared after collecting samples from 5% of the total nos of bags.

5.2 For other raw materials, Composite samples have to be prepared after collecting samples from √n+1 nos of the container. (If no. of the container is more than 5).

5.3 Composite sample has to be prepared after collecting a sample from all the containers equal to 5(if no. of containers less than 5).

Raw material sampling procedure

6.0 MAKING-OF SAMPLE

6.1 After collecting samples from the calculated no. of containers or bags mixed well.

7.0 WORKS AFTER SAMPLING

7.1 Label the sampling bottle or polybag with information containing the Material name, A.R. No.,  Supplier, and Date of Sampling.
