To get the best results, tanners are advised to maintain bath temperature at 34°C to 35°C and pH range - 8.5 - 9.0. Higher temperatures above 40°C may damage the enzymes.
Hence due care has to be taken to maintain the bath temperature between 34 °C to 35°C. The pH of the Bating Bath should be between 8.0 and 9.0 for good results and the duration of Bating depends on the final quality of leathers required.
